so this phone used to download pics and videos from texts but now it only sends message with a download button in the mesg bubble. When you hit the button it says unable to download try again later. I also video messages where the bubble has an error symbol and only allow you to hear the audio from the video. Somebody please help me before i go back to my ipoop

did you enable the use packet data option under Wireless & Network>mobile network settings? if yes, did you check under Access point name, under APN type shows internet+mms?

Yep, as nosgoth1138 said, sounds like you've got packet data switched off.
