Help My Optimus is sendin Garbage as a text

Hello Everyone, I am a new Android user and so far I love the phone! I come from a bberry and boy what a change for the better this was! However I am having a small problem. My phone is sending garbage as text. The people that receive the text see a whole bunch of letters and nothing else. Is there a way for me to correct this?

I have the same issue when I do bilingual texts.
