Help My phone doesn't open

Hi.
I had over night my phone for charging under the pillow, in the morning i found my phone S4 red hot and from this time never open and the battery was 2 times bigger, i bought new battery but not charging not open i did everything, a guy with pc and phone repair told me that it is the charging port..... i hope it has not damaged the motherboard.... Has anyone had this experience....???

Good way to burn your house down.
Lithium batteries need cooling ventilation while charging.
The heat may very well have burned up the charging port along with the rest of the phone.
