My Phone A8(2018) works fine if plugged into power, but freezes if the charger is unplugged. the battery still shows higher values, when its turned off and plugged into power again.

Sounds like might be the battery is shot, or there's some other hardware problem that needs repair or replacement.
you might want to try a hard reset. just make sure to back things up before you do so.
That should not happen. Way to soon.
