My phone is talking to me!!!!!

Yesterday, my phone started delivering status messages in a very loud voice.

Every half hour or so it a synthesized female voice would say something like "data connection turned off" or "data connection connected".

This message even happened at frequent intervals even when I was in airplane mode with all data switched off!

This was very annoying in the day, but after being woken up serveral times in the night by the message, I turned the phone off.

Could anyone advise why the phone has started talking to me (!) and how to turn it off in future. For reference, since I restarted the phone today, it has been silent.....

I think in the settings you could turn of the Talkover or something like that. Other people have had this problem as well
