My phone keeps making the charging noise and enters/exits charging for a second...

Hi everybody,

I have an issue with my Samsung Galaxy S2, whilst my phone is unpugged it keeps entering charging mode for a moment and exits, this is incredibly anoying since it keeps making a beep and the screen switches on...

I was wondering if anyone else has this prolblem or if there is anyway to fix it.

This did not happen after a software update, it just stared randomly.

Some users with similar problems have reported success by carefully and gently cleaning the microUSB port with an old soft-bristled toothbrush or something similar. Others hadto have the USB port/PCB replaced by a service centre.

is there a small triangle exclaimation point notification up top? this sounds consistant with the 'unable to charge non-supported battery, see owner's manual' error that comes up randomly when the stock charger starts going bad. my S3 and a cheap Precedent came with chargers that died doing that exact thing.
