My phone rebooted on its own today...

But you have to read this to understand.

First of all, the most recent market did something strange. It reported I had 3 sets of updates on my phone - one for each Google account I have registered on my phone. Needless to say, I was rather surprised, b/c I've only used one account in the market, ever.

I cleared the other two for the accounts never connected to market, then loaded my primary account, and there were 16 updates. I hit the update all button, set the phone down, and kept answering posts in here.

10 minutes later, my phone rebooted. I was like WTF? I never saw if it prompted me for a reboot or not, or anything like that, but I do now 2 system apps were updates - ZumoCast and My Verizon Wireless apps.

Anyone else see this happen in the last day or so?

Nah you're phone just sucks John. Lol jk. :p

Something similar happened to me but it was when I loaded a new ROM and my apps were all restoring. Not sure but I think it was the market app that made my phone reboot.

I had my phone reboot randomly on me for no reason. I was at work and typically have it sitting next to my keyboard with the kickstand out. I was using it to do texts and what nots. Nothing special. I was typing away for a few mins and noticed something on the corner of my eye and I saw the Motorola bootscreen. My phone's screen was off and nothing intensive was running in the background other than an IM program which is always on. I just scratched my head and ignored it. That was earlier this week and has yet to happen.

It's the only time that I know of that it has rebooted on me - but I'm fairly sure it does not do so at night b/c I have a TiBu schedule running every night and every morning I have my TiBu notification stating that it competed the backup, which should not appear if the reboot occurs after that backup (and sine the backup is early on int he AM, 2 AM, I'm usually awake up until that time anyway).

I just thought that it had something to do with an update - I did have 16 total updates, so....

my phone also has multiple Google accounts, and has been trying to update both of them also. its weird. Did your multiple account updates go away o do they keep coming back?

I only got the one so far. I was in the market today and accidentally found updates, so I'm not even sure what the schedule is for checking for updates. I'll let you know about them the next time they appear.

What!? There's a kickstand?

I guess this is what I get...haha. :(

My phone rebooted while updating three apps. I'm going to blame the Market app and the possibility that maybe Google is messing with it to get ready for the music store.

My phone has been rebooting like crazy the last week or so. It did 1 or 2 times earlier this week, once yesterday and again just now. I had just pulled it off the hdmi dock when it just did it, it did do 2 updates about 4-5 hours ago but the other times this week it had not done any. The time it rebooted yesterday was not long after I pulled it off the car charger. Other then that the phone runs real smooth no other problems at all. What do you guys make of that?

Do you have a charger connected to your HDMI station?

Also, are you using only the chargers that came with the phone? Any of the USB cables look like they might have suffered some damage?

My gf's Bionic did this twice yesterday... and the second time, it just turned off, and stayed off. We tried to turn it on, replaced the batter with a fully charged one, and even left it plugged in all night... to no avail. It seems dead.

Help - ?

The only other thing I could suggest is ... pull the battery out and verify that both cards are firmly and squarly seated. Replace the battery and try again.

Yes, the hdmi dock has a charger hooked to it as and the only other charger I use beside the one that came with it is the vzw car charger.

Basically what I'm trying to eliminate is if this is occurring because of your phone or because of a configuration / app / charging hardware / etc.

If you the have time, I'd suggest a complete wipe and then see if the problem still occurs - if it does, then obviously you either have a bad phone or bad cables / chargers. If not, then it is software / configuration related.
