My phone space is really weird? Help please!

I don't really know how to explain this problem I have. My dad's an IT so I got him to deal with it when it first happened and it worked.. But the thing is I've only had my phone for maybe a year and a half and the problem started about a month after having the phone.

So my problem. My phone space just runs out randomly. I've tried clearly cache, deleting all photo's on my phone and I have no messaging apps except for Skype to talk to my family. I had WhatsApp today but deleted it so I could download KakaoTalk since all my friends now use that. It was weird cause this has happened before. As you'd assume deleting WhatsApp would free up so much space but it literally added more. So I went from needing around 60mb free for KakaoTalk (before deleting WhatsApp) to needing 71mb. It's really annoying. The only apps I have on my phone are social medias because I can't download any games at all. All my friends have ios so I'm really considering moving to ios even though I've always been an android fan. It's just the phone space. I can't download any apps to delete cache either because surpise, I haven't got enough space for that. I have a microSD card and all but I can only move some apps onto that. I have 9 apps I've downloaded in total and yes I do need them so I am NOT un-downloading them for KakaoTalk. It's really upsetting as well because I spent really good money for my phone but it barely lets me play any games or anything on it. I've shown my dad my phone and everything and he also has no idea what's wrong with it.

Please help! I have a Huawei 5 and I'm really disappointed and cannot afford a new phone especially not an ios so I'm sitting here with a phone that I can't really do anything on.

When you say the "Huawei 5", do you mean the "Huawei Y5" or some other model? And how much space do you have? It will be easier to suggest solutions if we know what we are dealing with.

Have you looked to see what is using the space? Looked at your apps to see which ones are using a lot? Remember that pre-installed apps can still use space for their data, and apps like Facebook will happily use hundreds of MB by themselves (because obviously they are the most important thing on your phone - are you listening Mr Zuckerberg?). You can still clear data for pre-installed apps, and if there are any that you don't use try disabling them (which also clears their data and removes updates, both of which save space - it shouldn't let you disable anything genuinely vital).

By its nature Android needs some free storage as working space, so once your available storage gets below that level (which varies by device, but is probably at least 500 MB) it will block installs and some downloads. My only guess at what happened with WhatsApp is that something else grabbed the space the moment it was freed.

Anyway, the important thing is to give us more information, and to check for yourself what is actually using the space on it.
