My phone wont turn on after failed update using skies

I tried to update my Samsung Captivate Glide to ICS through Kies and i dont know what happened but it wont turn on. However when I connect it to the computer, the screen says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery in kies and try again". the phone just turns off when i disconnect it. Whats wrong with it? What do i do?

Try using Kies, go to tools, select firmware upgrade and initialization. It will ask for your model number and serial number. You should be able to find those under the battery so have them written down first. Just follow these instructions and hopefully you can get it going again.
