My pictures have disappeared

I have an Atrix 2 and I went to find a picture but they have all disappeared. They are not in my camera roll or in my gallery widget/app. I updated my phone to the 4.0 ice cream sandwich a couple weeks ago, if that has anything to do with it. But I don't know what happened, they were definitely there yesterday and I haven't taken any pictures since the last time I saw them there so I don't think it was a storage problem. Does anyone know what happened??

Have you removed your sd card? Was your phone connected to the computer as a mass storage device?

Open file manager, go to DCIM then check those folders.

Open a file explorer and delete a file on your SD card. One you have backed up or don't need. This will force a rescan of the sdcard and with any luck your pictures will be back in your gallery

this happened to me as well, and i dont know what i did wrong, but does connecting as a mass storage device increase likeliness of deletions?
