Help My Prevail keeps wanting to Force Close

I have a Galaxy Prevail. I can call, use my camera, calculator, etc. as long as it doesn't have to connect to the web. When I use any ap including messaging and email, I receive a message that google. android has experienced a problem and needs to close. Then I have one option, which is to "Force Close". I don't know what caused it, unless it was from dropping my phone, but it was on carpeting. Anyway if anyone can help,
I'd really apreciate it. :) Gramma

Hi, welcome to the forums! I don't have your device, but you might get more responses in the sub forum for the Prevail:

or maybe someone will chime in with an answer here. Best of luck!

i keep getting Prevail and Proclaim mixed up, but if i'm correct, this device has either 512MB or worse, 256MB or RAM and (unless you run a Custom ROM) Android 2.3.x

the force close and sometimes (and seemingly far more often) 'Sorry! the process XXX in activty YYY is not responding' prompts often seem to show if the device is trying to run or launch an app while simultaneously doing garbage collection (as in closing some programs to free up RAM for the program you want to use or load) and this slows the device down or causes force close/wait errors, and sometimes the phone simply freezes and reboots itself.

the only way i have found to fix it in my case was to root, change some things in ROM toolbox pro, and use a different task manager to keep the RAM just free enough that Android can use it without calling up garbage collection over and over and over. this has made my device run pretty smooth and i haven't seen any of those blasted annoying dialogs.
