My Samsung Galazy S II keeps on overheating

While I was in class I noticed that my phone was overheated and I hadn't even used it throughout the day. This has happened for the past few days. I've gotten the Samsung Galaxy S II about a week and a half ago and had no problems with it till now. The battery life also drains really quickly without me even using it. Why does this keep on happening? And yes, I have the active applications app where I can kill apps that are active, I always exit all apps before getting off my phone.
Can I please get any help why my battery life keeps on draining without me using the phone and the battery keeps on heating?

Go to settings > about phone > battery use to discover what is eating your battery. You can also check your phone's temperature using an app like SystemPane.

Drop the app that is killing tasks. Android is optimized to run at near memory capacity, so when the app killer kills and app, Android is loading something (possibly the same app) to get back to an optimum memory level utilizing the processor. This is why your phone is heating up. It will also kill your batter faster.

Drop the task killer.

Actually, don't even bother closing anything manually, Android will take good care of itself.

And by overhearting you're talking about how many degrees? Because while in heavy use, mine hits almost 50 celcius, that's normal.

Nine out of ten times, overheating is caused by an application. Uninstall all installed apps prior to this happening. If you can't remember which one then uninstall the ones you believe might be the causing this problem. (Especially any "task killer" apps.)

Ps. You can also check in to your device's area of support, to see if this is a known problem with your device. (I would have moved your thread to the correct forum, but I'm not sure of what carrier your on.)
