My selected ringtone doesn't always play

I just got a Droid Razr less than 2 wks ago and I've noticed that the ringtone I've selected doesn't always play when someone calls. Instead, a very standard-sounding ringtone plays - one that isn't even in the list of selectable ringtones.

When I try calling my phone with my landline, which is not in my contacts list, the selected ringtone does play.

Any ideas why this might be? I figure it might have to do with the fact that I previously installed Ringtone Architect and Ringdroid, and assigned a few contacts to have special ringtones. (I've since uninstalled both apps.)

Never mind. Got my answer - what I needed to do was open up a contact, hit the MENU button and then I could assign ringtones to each person without an app. And it probably had to do with those previous apps I installed, but now I know that I didn't even need them to assign individual ringtones.
