My Skinomi vs XO vs SGP Steinheil Flex verdict

I had tried Skinomi and XO skin, but didn't like them at all, and now I am settled with Steinheil Flex. These are just my personal verdict on these skins. It might have been just my luck, or whatever, so your result may vary. I had each of them for one week to give time to cure.

First, Skinomi had a cheap feel to it, quality not so great. I had lots of micro bubbles in the skin itself, not between the skin and the screen. It is least edge to edge compared to the other two. Scratches and other marks were too much to bare when screen was off. It has most orange peel-like looks than the other two.

XO had very good look when applied. It was barely noticeable that protective skin was applied. It is very plasticky to touch and somewhat noticeable when you try to scroll, even though it gets better after few days. However, biggest reason I threw away this skin was, because I had wave patterns on entire screen. It's hard to describe, but screen wasn't crystal clear after applying the skin. I immediately threw it away after one week.

Now, finally SGP Steinheil Flex. This skin is by far the best. It is almost edge to edge, screen is very clear, feel to touch is very glass-like. My only complaints were that it was the hardest to apply, and it collects more oil and fingerprints imo, and it is more orange peel-like than XO, but not as much as Skinomi.

All three skin is wet-applying skin, and I had some trouble applying this one. It was really sticky unlike the other two. I had alot of big bubbles after applying the skin , but to my amazement they all went away in next two days.

I highly recommend Steinheil Flex skns for Nexus

I must say my XO Skins experience has been very different. Went on easily, bubbles cleared within 24 hours, and the protector is crystal clear. I showed it to a few friends at work and they couldn't even tell it was on there. I don't know if you got a bad one or had a mishap with the installation, but the XO Skins protector looks excellent on my Galaxy Nexus.

I've heard bad reviews on the XO skins. I put on my steinheil flex last night and am very satisfied with it this morning after the small bubbles and imperfections have gone away. Fits perfect with he diztronic tpu case and can barely be seen. It also does not show finger prints as much as other protectors.

I haven't tried the flex, but I have used XO Skins and have had flawless results. I have read only good things about them save a few people who sounded like they installed it wrong, or didn't give it longer than a few hours to dry.

I posted my review on here. http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus/465965-xo-skins-installed-fit-pics-perfection.html

And their video, shows how they hide fingerprints and don't have Orange peel

Either way the Wet protectors are the way to go, None of the dry ones fit and there is no way the acrylic would stop a dremel.

completely agree on that one! that's why I didn't get the SGP ultra-oleophobic (spelling?) or Boxwave one.

Curious about wet apply, but I would need to see one in person before I jump on it. I'm loving my SGP Ultra Oleo so far, so I think I'll run with it for a bit.

Looks like they only have utah stores. But they are all over the web, I love mine.
