Help My text messaging app icon looks the same after the ics upate.. did something go wrong?

Hi guys. can you guys help me with this, This motorola atrix 2 was sold with ics already installed, and the problem is that it had the text messagin icon with the "" instead of the "message" icon , here , im gonna show you.

Looks like a different messaging app. Have you factory data reset the phone since purchase?

I'm scared to do that. because they tell me it will lock my phone :/
