My Thoughts on Sprint after vacation

So I went to Disneyland over this past week for the Holidays and I was just really wondering is there anyone who lives in Anaheim/Disneyland area who experiences bad data connections? I was there an I was in wide open sunny area and I couldn't get service for crap in Anaheim inside or outside. I thought maybe cause something was wrong so I went to Los Angeles and it worked a little better, but still slow from this experience I am wondering is it just CA that has bad service in those areas or what because when I got home back here in Portland it works fine and internet is snappier than ever but for some reason not there....that left a bad taste in my mouth with Sprint.....meanwhile I have also never seen so many iPhones in one area in my life but I guess cause they made in Cupertino so thats why but even ATT was getting great coverage because I asked a few people who had iPhones was their data working and they said it was just fine.

1... maybe in that area.. sprint had some tower issues.

2... i am surprised your phone did not auto jump to roaming... on verizon or other.
so that leads me to think.. your phone may have an issue. maybe your PRL is old and needs to be updated. the current version is 60674.

In Disneyland there is a Sprint coverage issue. My T-mobile phone had great coverage and speed, but for some reason Sprint's coverage sucked. I ended up using my T-mobile service a lot more. Sprint's coverage was just bad enough that my phone didn't roam, but yet couldn't get decent data speed with Sprint.

Having said that, Sprint's coverage in most other areas are excellent.

I live in San Diego now and my service here is great. When I lived in Tampa Fl my service was absolutely horrible. I was constantly roaming when I was inside my house.

Out of curiosity...How long ago was that? My Aunt and father live up there and have Sprint. They even have 4G there now and I haven't experienced many problems in FL from Ft Myers to Orl.

I will say though our data speeds are terrible just about everywhere.

Woosh, that was about 8 months ago. I lived in northern Tampa. My development was completely outside the Sprint coverage in my area.

Hell I can't get decent service here in Denver Colorado! They've been messing around with the towers trying to get 4g up and running, and in the process, have messed up 3G. I'll give them to the end of this billing period to get things running properly, otherwise they can stick it!

Yea my PRL is 60671. I am rooted and so I wasn't really sure about updating those type of things, but even with that my wife has a Palm Pixie and she had issues, thats just weird how that area is like a bomb shelter or something. I love Sprint but sheesh I dont like places where my phone has issues, I am too attached to this darn data lifestyle....

I had the exact same thing and now that I'm back in Kansas, my data connection is crap! :( Right before leaving Kansas, my Data connection was great! Coincidence?

I been 5 times to Disneyland/Anaheim in the last 5 weeks and I been having issues with Sprint Service on my Nexus S. At the beginning I thought the network was congested since I visited the park on NYE and lots of my friends were having issues with their phone, missed calls, no sending/receiving sms on different networks. Once again I visited the park last night and no data, texts or calls would work while on the park premises or around Disneyland area. 4G service (Wimax) is spotty in the park, so I was at least able to send text messages via Google Voice. Is there any way to report this issue? I am tired of being unable to make/receive calls on my phone in this area.

Yes call Sprint and have them pull a ticket, report back and let us know what they say, also mention to them that others have report the same issue on this forum

When I was at Disneyland last summer I had no problems on my old Evo as far as data was concerned (my fiance did have some issues on her Epic, however). That was back in June, however, so things certainly could have changed since then.

As an aside, I thought iPhones were jailbroken, not rooted. :p

Sprint is terrible for data speeds all across Los Angeles. Wimax speeds are fine but good luck getting reliable coverage.

I had some issues as I live in the Orange County area that popped up around the first of the year too. My biggest issue though was at work where my phone has sat on the same desk for almost two years at the 15 & 60. I called and talked to Sprint and they said no issues had been reported at all in the area, my phone would need to be checked.

I got the run around at a few Sprint stores and some "tech" then reset my phone to diagnose it only to tell me that my phone was fine. I am still livid as I could have done better tech work than I got from Sprint.

I run the opensignalmaps app and noticed a couple days before my phone went in that signal areas at my house and work improved. I think it was a local network issue.

Sprint at Disneyland is Terrible. I go to Disneyland about every 6 weeks. My EVO 3D searches for service so much my phone is dead by 2pm. I have tried turning off WIFI, GPS, Bluetooth but with the same results. I recently went into my local Sprint store and he suggested updating the PRL while there and see if you can bring in some new towers. I will try this in February.

I did call Sprint and stated that they didn't any problems in the voice services, but indeed they did tell me that some other users reported data issues.

I agree with you. I have done the same thing on my Nexus S 4G and after being probably 4 hours in the park my phone is almost dead. I encourage you to call Sprint and let them know about the issue too. When I called Sprint they did the same thing, they updated my PRL, They suggested to do that while at the park. I will do that next time Ill be there and provide you guys with updates.
