My Verizon App / Verizon Login App

Ok, this driving me insane. ><

I regularly like using the VZ data widget to show my data usage. Recently I have tried tapping it to login to the full "My Verizon" app to check my voice / data usage (this USED to work at some point but I havn't done it in a long while).

Now, no matter what, the app keeps telling me my username and password do not match & it will not login. I can, however, use the exact same username and password to access the "My Verizon" website to in my local browser.

So... in an attempt to get this working, I have cleared the cache / the data / rebooted... to no avail.

To make matters more annoying, I read somewhere that you need the VZ Login app (which I did have but didn't know). I found it in the market and clicked to install, but it said I already have it... now here's the wierd part: when I go to the market on my phone it shows in the NOT INSTALLED list! (I see the app as running in my apps task manager too!).

Bah... so not only is the stupid My Verizon app not working for its one small purpose, but now I have an app under "NOT INSTALLED" that is actually installed and gives no option to reinstall / uninstall / or remove from the list!!!

Sheesh. Way to go VZ. Any suggestions on how to clean this all up? :) (I'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to getting things "right" on my phone... I don't like leaving things in lists where they aren't supposed to be! ><).

EDIT: in case you're wondering, the only app I have disabled atm is the VZ Backup app (which shouldn't be related). This situation also prevents me from accesing the NFL Mobile app (since it uses the VZ Login).

I cannot log in on my new galaxy nexus "username and password do not match" Uhhhh yeah they do.

I need help as well, hopefully someone has an answer. Ive force stopped, and cleared the cache many times, rebooted many times, even changed my dang username. Any ideas?

Ok, so upon further research I found that this requires the verizon login app to work. I went to the market and tried to download verizon login....already installed. Funny, it doesnt appear in my app tray but yes it is installed...somewhere.

I didnt download verizon login so I assume it came preinstalled? Do I need to access it before using my verizon or nfl mobile? If so, why cant I see or open it?

Sounds like you are in the same boat as me then... :/ Yes, the Verizon Login app was pre-installed (one of four VZ apps that was on there I think... VZ Backup, VZ Login (runs in the background), My Verizon, and a background VZ process that is intended for implementing LTE I believe).

What drives me nuts is that after I tried to install the login app from the market it shows up in my "not installed" list... even though trying to install gives the message that it is already installed. Sigh.

In an effort to "Kill all the bloatz!" you disabled the "My Account" app when you got the phone, didn't you?

Reenable that app and all the other Verizon apps will magically work.

ZOMG! Useful bloat!

I cant speak for Dagr, but my "my verizon" and "verizon login" apps are both enabled. And just like Dagr said, it is showing up as installed on my device but is somehow listed under "not installed" on the market>my apps>not installed.

This is really really strange to me. How can it be installed but not installed?
In any case, its certainly on there and its enabled.

Enable 4glte and then you will log on my Verizon wireless app. Must download login app and my Verizon mobile app. Hope it helps.

I believe we are both trying to say that yes, we have these apps installed and enabled... and they are not working. :) (And further, the Login app is installed but showing under the list as "not installed" even though its actively on our phones). (And yes, I've tried it on Wifi, 3g, and 4g LTE with no luck).

I wish it were that simple :)... the only app from VZ that i have disabled is the VZ Backup, since I have no need of it. Other than that, I had previously been able to use the My Verizon app... and yes, I actually do find it very useful, which is why I want to be able to use it to see my data usage. :) Yes, ICS has very good data monitoring, but I like seeing it from what VZ tells me since they are the ones that meter the usage / get my money.

I think it has to do with version numbers of the app... if you notice, the version that is listed on the market (play store?! ;)) is actually a lower version number than the login app on our phones... which leads me to believe that the VZ Nexus actually had a specific version factory installed. When you try to install from the market, it adds it to the list, but then sees you have a newer version installed & can't install the one from the market.... just my theory anyway. The bottom line is that its just not working for me anyway. :(

Everything you just said, I am in the same boat. 4g on and off, enabled and disabled, cache cleared and all. I even did a factory reset since I hadnt really done much setting up on the new device yet....its just not working. Verizon login is definitely there, just chilling in the background and despite the fact that its there, my verizon mobile app just wont work. When I try it on wifi, it tells me to enable mobile data, when I turn on mobile data it tells me that my name and password dont match.

I have no new news other than the fact that Im so frustrated that I finally emailed verizon about it. I told them all of the facts and said "Hey I know everyone bitches about your preinstalled apps but I actually like this one and would like to use the widget" A few days later I got a call from a guy who informed me that it was a known issue on certain devices and that theyre working on a fix. Ill report any changes or contact from them. I try everyday and still get "username and password do not match" though.

Thanks a ton for updating us on your experience contacting VZ!

On another note... I had also taken the widget off my home screen and decided to add it today. Oddly enough its still reporting data usage numbers for me (which seem to be correct)... even though when i click on it I can't log in, etc, etc (as outlined above). /sigh.

Well unfortunately I never heard back from vzw about the apps. My data widget works....until i try to open it. Oh well, at least I can glance at it to see my usage. Pretty lame. Any other news on this?

After installing the new update on the android market, Oh Im sorry, Google Play Store....not really, its the android market dammit....The my verizon app now works for me. Good luck to all of you, hope you get the same results.

NFL mobile however has yet to be updated but I hope it will get the same treatment.
