Hello, Long time lurker, first time poster. This is how I solved my problems with the GPS.
Sorry for the long Post.
Like every one else using the triumph I had the GPS lock taking more then 4 mins to even locate me.
After reading a lot of pages on this forum, and installing the Custom Recovery from the developers, and then gaining root on the phone I was able to flash GPS.CONF file that some posted on a different thread on the this site, which worked great, I was able lock my position in about 20 secs, everything was going fine until the phone stopped charging, I think the power jack is lose. VM issued warranty exchange, but I felt like putting the phone back to stock, after stock I noticed that the GPS was crap again so I flashed the GPS.CONF file again as it will take some time to receive the new phone.
To my surprises the flash did not change GPS back to its earlier state, Then I remembered that my co-worker had a similar problem with his samsung galaxy tab 7 inch, he solved his problem by uninstalling google maps and then re-down loading
google maps from the market place, after that the GPS locked almost instantly.
I followed the same steps as he did and what do you know its works!
Almost instant lock. Maybe this might help some one who is having the GPS problems on the phone.
