My YouTube app suddenly stopped providing 1080p option.

Yesterday my LG G3s requested an update where everything seemed to change a bit. My buttons changes to triangle, square and circle. Some other animations as well. I then used the YouTube app and realized there was no 1080p option anymore. Not only that but videos that have only 1080p quality (yes there are some of those) are suddenly "unavailable on this device". Please help, I've tried everything.
 
I'm guessing your g3 just got the lollipop update and that's why your softkeys and animations have changed but I've no idea why you can no longer get 1080p youtube vids.
You could try uninstalling updates to the youtube app then update it and see if that helps
 
I've tried it... Every combination of upgrade and downgrade actually. I even rooted my phone to show an older version of Android to no avail. Although I can find no reason for this to happen I've others have the same problem in the youtube reviews.
 
Hmm don't know what to tell you then mate. I just checked and I'm still getting 1080p on lollipop.
Are the other reviewers who have mentioned it using the same phone as you?
 
No they didn't seem to have the same phone and they're comments are now buried under the new ones. It seems that no matter what version of YouTube I have active ever since the lollipop upgrade it just won't provide any quality higher than 720p. Judging by my Google searches my model must not be very popular and everybody's got the LG G3 instead. I'm thinking that maybe this was a limitation of some sort for the weaker LG G3 s model by the lollipop version itselF.. I don't know..
 
Software update must've messed with youtube, is it possible for you to uninstall YouTube entirely and re-download it?
 
Yes, I did it and I had to root my phone to be able to. I even change the version in the build. Still nothing. Is there an Android technical support where I can ask directly?
