Myspace switching to Facebook?? haha

( Hey mods. Im not promoting any other site we just happend to get the tip. I mean no harm :o )

BAN HIM!

I mean.... Welcome to the forum :)

But seriously, myspace still exists? :P

I wonder how long facebook + twitter are going to stick around for.

I sometimes wonder too how long Facebook and Twitter will last...if they follow suit, they're time is numbered. I dont expect them to go away anytime soon though! They seem to be very popular for both personal and business use.

It wasn't but just a few months ago that I LIVED on FB. . now it seems like I check it every other day or so. I have to say my Facebook activity dropped when I got my Android phone. . . The (GASP) Blackberry app for facebook did have a few better features, especially on notifications. I use the Android app but I miss the RIM version. That being said, I would not give up my Android for anything.

I think that Twitter will survive (although i think they already link to facebook also) just because of the way its laid out. You can only post like 150 characters or something like that. It's just quick little "tweet" haha. No picture pages or music players or anything like that. Myspace has just been trying to mimic Facebook for about two years now that they started losing popularity. I dont know why Facebook hasn't just tried to buy Myspace out...you know they have the money to do it.

Twitter links to a lot of things....

MySpace, FB, Google Buzz, AOL's LifeStream, LinkedIn, etc...

Actually, I should say more appropriately that they all allow linking to Twitter b/c twitter made it so easy to do so....

And as much as the whippersnappers love to send SMS, twitter is a godsend for them....costs a lot less to send a single twitter update to 20000 people ('scuse me, ppl) than it does to SMS the same 20000....

I still have my myspace account though i haven't actually used it in forever, speaking of which this means i will need to go get my pictures off there...

You can link your facebook posts to your twitter account too. You can also link your comments from news sites like huffington post to facebook. I guess by your logic that means that Huffington Post is switching to facebook which is switching to Twitter... dur, welcome to 2010.

Most news articles give you an array of icons for sites you can link to that article on. Most notably are FB, Twitter and MySpace but then there's delicios.us (?), Google Buzz and several others..

This is nothing new, it's been happening for a while.

This is very true! But what thoroughly amazes me is that some music apps are now linking to Twitter so you can share the name of the song you're listening too with everyone who follows you in Twitter! Rats! I guess that means I have to stop listening to the Dixie Chicks, the Spice Girls, and Barry Manilow!!! :o

I believe that MySpace will have a slow, painful death. I can see it lasting for a while but don't see it having lasting power to compete with Facebook.

Added: If you can't beat them, join them.

Myspace has been dying ever since Facebook came aroud. yeah it is fun to sit there and write some code to make your page do what no on elses will but that gets boring fast, or at least it did for me.

Im actually surprised that Myspace has stuck around for as long as it has, and that there are still actually a good number of people out there that are still using the service.
