Mysterious keyboard button...

[eltoppdog]

So I just noticed a button on the stock keyboard, next to the shrink keyboard button its a black button that says 'EN'. it is grey and won't ever click, and in certain apps it makes the space bar resize TINY...

Nothing shows up in search engines, anyone know what this is!?

Hi eltoppdog ..

First off, welcome to Android Forums.

What device model do you have? On my phone (Evo 4g LTE), the key with EN letter would be for changing from one language to another (preferable English to Spanish). However, I'm not sure if it's the same with yours.

It sounds like the language setting for your keyboard. Usually EN stands for English. If you use Windows, you may see this on your system tray.

The reason it is greyed out is that you probably have no other languages to select. If your keyboard supports other languages, then this key will likely not be greyed out and tapping on it will allow you to switch languages.
