Mystery beep

I have had the phone for about 2 weeks, and i have recently got this random notification beep. There is no notification on the drop menu, and i have not added any new apps/widgets. Please help?
 
Are you charging with a non-Samsung cable? mine was doing that until I charged it with the cable out of the box.
 
yes i AM.. humm .. let me try this.. i was about to do a damnn factory reset on this thing... thanks.. illl try it and post later today to see if this works.
 
I had a rather peculiar (seemingly) random beeping issue until I realised it was to do with the RFID chips in various cards in my wallet.

It did take me a little while to make the connection between my S3 sitting on my wallet and the beeping noises.

To test this I took my public transport RFID card out of my wallet and touched it to the back of my S3. Lo and behold *beep-bi-boop* :D

This may not be the same beeping sound you guys are getting though.

I just got my Galaxy S3 four days ago. It is doing the same thing yours is doing. It is beeping while it is charging I have it plugged into the OEM charger that came with the phone. It makes 4 short beeps and then it does it again later over and over. The ringer was in the silent position too and I had NO notifications! This morning when I took it off the charger, it had been off for at least 10 min and I noticed that it was beeping again! Have you gotten any help with yours?

This is what I've noticed too.
Since some credit cards have NFC chips and sometimes you put your phone on your wallet, it'll beep.

Try turning off NFC and see if that gets right of your beepers.
 
Was getting the same thing. Turned out to be the Yahoo app notifying me every time I got spam on my yahoo e-mail. Check your e-mail application settings and make sure the sound notification is off.
 
Mine has also started doing this. I used to have a similar problem on my htc desire hd, where once it was charged .... It seemed like it stopped charging , however it would lose a bit of juice and then start charging again, which is where the charging notification beep would happen ... Just wonder if the same is happening here .... Although, confused why it has just started doing it after not doing it before
 
This probably won't apply to most of you, but I had the same problem and realized that notifications from third-party apps (games, programs, etc.) were the culprit. I'd get random beeps out of nowhere; I uninstalled a few shady games and the beeps disappeared.
