Here is the short story...
I was a proud owner of MyTouch 3G -Merlot. One day I came from work and noticed that my wife is making laundry. She told me if I want to get my pants washed I better put them in the washer right away. So I did. After 20 min. I start to look for my phone...and guess where I found it

That happened about 2-3 months ago. I have bought different phones but none of them satisfy me as mytouch did.
My question:
Is it possible to fix my phone? Can I buy other broken one and swipe the "motherboards"??? Any steps to determine what might get damaged?
I forgot to mention that when I try to turn it on the LED light is pink and nothing happens.
