mytouch 3g slide froyo???

[heresaquestion]

I have a mytouch slide ( obviously) and I was wondering why i cant update it to froyo, the software number is not the same on the update page on tmobiles website.my software number starts with 1.18, anyone else have this problem.

Ps. I cant root it either.???

You can update it, but it is not an ota update. You have to apply it yourself using htc's updater. You can download it on htc's support page for the slide.
