Help MyTouch 4G Tether?

I've been reading a few reports on other sites that free USB and wifi tethering is possible with the mytouch 4g, is this true? I'd like to be able to cancel my current cable internet account and just buy a mytouch 4g, and have my wifi devices connect to internet that way. Is this possible without having to pay an extra fee with t-mobile?

Tethering is sharing your mobile internet connection via direct line. This is done by plugging the USB cable into your computer with your phone on it and changing the settings to USB tether. This is different than wifi tethering. Why tmo doesn't charge for wired tethering I dont know.

Also some people have just gotten lucky so far by just using wifi tether and haven't gotten charged for it. Other people haven't had the same luck.

I haven't been charged for WiFi tethering :D

Be aware though, you can only connect two devices at once, that's something you might wanna consider before canceling your cable internet account. Plus, T-Mobile's 4G network isn't available everywhere, take that into consideration as well.

You can tether your phone by way of your USB cable into a computer, or you can also tether it wirelessly, this basically turns your phone into a wireless router. As far as download and upload speeds, they will be higher/faster when you use your USB connection. You can do this by paying for the Tmobile applications, or you can root your phone and get this capability for free.

Here is a good link for rooting your device - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFRWNoRiqlA

Good luck!
