MyTouch & SD Card Problems?

I've had my MyTouch for about half of a year now and I absolutely loved it when I first got it. I bought it used, but still in practically new condition, and the shop threw in a free 8GB Mini SDHC card.

About a month or so ago, after I re-boot my phone, I got a sudden notification saying my SD card was damaged? I reluctantly reformat the card, losing everything -.-, and the phone was fine for a month or so afterwards. However, just recently I got the same notification, out of nowhere! I've tried to reformat the card, but it never lets me now. The phone itself is in working condition, but is extremely slow, freezes, and is laggy now... I have a constant notification that my SD card is damaged and I'm not quite sure if the problem is the phone itself or the SD card or both? Can anyone help me out here, am I missing something obvious? Lol. Is MyTouch compatible with Mini SDHC cards?

I'm looking to sell this phone soon and I don't want to sell someone a broken phone :/ Thanks in advance!

It is actually a micro SDHC card and yes, the phone works fine with them. It is possible that the card you got with your phone was used or of poor quality, etc. You can pick up a new card very inexpensively. If you are planning to sell the phone I recommend you buy a 4GB card, put it in and format it in the phone. I suspect the phone will be fine then. I bought a 16GB card for mine and it has been trouble free for many months.

I was having a the same problems and did a little research a while back. The Class of your SD card makes the difference. Take it out and look at the number inside of the big C. I forgot which one I had previously, I think a Class 2. Well I went online and ordered a Class 6 SD and its been working fine since. I think the Class is how fast it is at processing the data on the card. I'm pretty sure they have faster Class cards now, so check on eBay or Amazon for a Class 6 or Class 8 SD card. Let me know if that fixes the problem.

You are correct about the class indicating the speed of the card, but my 16GB card is a class 2 and has never caused any problems.
