N5 or wait?

I have done absolutely no research on when/ if N6 will be out so what do y'all think pick a N5 or wait?

The N6 will definitely be newer and have better specs, but all signs point to it being an absolutely massive device. I know a lot of people will probably be avoiding it for that reason alone.

If you want the latest and greatest, and don't mind a phablet, then wait a month or two for the nexus 6.

The nexus 5 on the other hand will obviously be cheaper, and still be updated to android L, and any other subsequent updates for the next year.

Another angle. There is no guarantee this will happen again, but last October, a few weeks before the Nexus 5 was released, they had a fire sale on the nexus 4 to clear out inventory. Probably depends on how much stock they still have.

Followed the link, if nexus 6 is 5.9" I'll buy it. I understand it will be handful but I always felt nexus 5 could have been little bigger to be the perfect phone for me .

Well, we know what the nexus 6 will be. Its going to be solidly in the "phablet" category, with 5.9" (its still shorter than the iphone 6 plus though)

This Is The Motorola Nexus 6: A 5.9" QHD Display, 3200mAh+ Battery, Dual Front-Facing Speakers, And More

If that is too large, wait for it to be released and the price of the nexus 5 will drop.

Estimates for release are at the end of october/early november, so you wont have to wait long :)

It will be mine, oh yes it will be mine!

First I must say that the N5 is by far the best phone I've ever had..... And I absolutely love it.
There are Tons of development for it and there is still continued support.
Easy to do dang near anything with it and the android world is at your finger tips with the N5.. Almost any ROM and or kernel is available for it.
If you can get one at a reasonable price, then I wouldn't hesitate to snach it up. Not to mention the resale value on it will still be great amount and allow you to put that $ towards the N6 or whatever other device you might choose to purchase.
Personally (even thought I love my N5) I will be purchasing a N6 come first of the year. I generally purchase my device's around Jan or Feb, when they have worked out a few of the kinks and bugs, by the second run.
I have fairly large hands and can easily control and handle the N5 without any issues. Even using the Galaxy Mega 6.3, (which is huge) I can still control, operate and function the device without any issues. So for the N6 being a 5.9 and with lower buton placement, it will be a perfect fit for me and can't wait to get one.
Plus the N5 will stay within my family and go to my wife... She see's it as a hand me down and I'm the one that gets all the new gadgets and toys but hey I'm the one paying for my device... Plus she is a bit envious of my N5, since the last device I passed down to her was an LG Optimus L9... Not so hot! Lol ;)

It's hard to think they won't have a five inch phone at all. Maybe there will be a refreshed version of the Nexus 5, new colours, updated specs but basically the same device.

Anythings possible, but given that we haven't seen any leaks and the phone should be announced in a few weeks it doesn't seem likely

I LOVE my N5 and probably always will. I sold my Galaxy S5 a couple months ago and went right back to N5. It's not about the specs all the time, it's about the experience. With pure Android you are always going to have an amazing phone on your hands. I was/am still very disappointed that they are making the N6 a 6inch screen. The N5 was the biggest I ever wanted it to really be. So Moto X (2014) here I come, once they officially announce the N6 having a 6 inch screen, that same day I will be ordering my Moto. Love the Nexus line wish I didn't have to leave it, but the Moto X truly is the next best thing.

My problem is I have no real justification for getting a new phone with a merely year old N5, but I would love a 6" screen. I'm hoping I can resist and get another year out of my N5, but I'm not sure I can. Maybe I'll distract myself with the Nexus 9 if that ever shows up. ;)

resistance is futile :D

I feel like an indecisive idiot these days. I just bought a Moto G to serve as a backup phone so I could unload my N5 now while the prices on craigslist were higher just so I could turn around a buy the N6 when it comes out. Then I realized that it was a really silly idea because I won't be able to stand not having a pure android experience and also that once L hits, I'll basically think that the Moto G is unusable waiting for the upgrade. Then, when taking back the Moto G, I had to stop myself twice from buying a Moto 360 in the store because there's something inside of me that is unbelievably, excruciatingly hard to control. I now understand the people that comment to articles saying "Google, take my money now!!".

The N6 is going to be huge, people are going to make fun of me with how undeniably huge the phone is, I will probably have to buy a manpurse. I don't care, apparently I need to buy something soon as if my life depends on it.

Actually some Moto Xs last year got KitKat before a few Nexus 4s, so it's possible you could get L very quickly on the X.

Yes, the Nexus 5c.

As time goes on I think I'll cave in and get the N6 regardless of the fact I love the N5 and it's perfect for me.

I too have an uncontrollable urge for new stuff and it's consuming me.
