Help nagging update message rooted droid

I have a rooted HTC 2.2 unrevoked (yay) and i have been getting a message coming up everyday and saying there is an update available. I click on it and it asks to install now or later. It is an android update saying it will update the vcast suite of apps. Well I have uninstalled that crap with Titanium backup. Whatever, im adventurous and I tell it to install and it says ii will reboot and it never does. It says it is downloaded but it just never installs and it is getting annoying. Any one else or am I alone?

Same problem on my rooted Inc, flashed to Cricket. Don't know how to get rid of it. Not sure how I'm getting updates from Verizon when I'm on Cricket, lol

I opened /system/build.prop in Root Explorer in r/w mode, selected text editor, edited the line below (changed 231334 to 264707), then saved it. That's all. Root Explorer makes a backup build.prop file automatically

ro.build.fingerprint=verizon_wwe/inc/inc/inc:2.2/FRF91/264707:user/release-keys

Rebooted twice and no more nag.
