Root Nandroid Restore Help

Newbie
I think I may have a bad nandroid backup of my original factory image.
I performed backup just prior to flashing the cleanrom 2.0.
After using this rom for a while I decided to go back to stock rom and performed another backup with cleanrom on it.
When I do a nandroid restore of the factory rom and restart the phone it boots up to a white HTC screen for a few seconds and then goes to a black screen and just sits there. This forces me to do a wipe and restore of the cleanrom backup to get back and running.

How do I get back to factory at this point?

I have the same thing going on. Had some issues installing a new ROM and it seems I don't have the back up anywhere now. From what i gather you will have to just download the stock ROM, install it and then back it up so you have the original then mess with other ROM's. I couldn't find any other way to go back to original myself but I don't know a lot about recovery.

on my backups I make sure that Boot,Data,Android Secure and System are checked.
The backups are stored on your SD Card in the folder named Nandroid.
Im not sure what could be wrong with your backups unless you have boot or data unchecked when your backing up the Rom

All of my backups aren't bad. Just my initial backup of the stock Rom. Was able to restore my backup of CleanRom 2.0

Wow all these responses and no confirmed answer. Did you ever re-flash your kernel? That's usually what causes this problem. Scotts ICS ROMs automatically flash the kernel, however when you want to go back to a pre-ICS ROM you need to re-flash the GB kernel. Recovery CANNOT do this automatically even if you backed it up. If you can't find the kernel that came with the backed up ROM, then extract boot.img from your backup and flash it in fastboot.

Sorry guys. I have been dealing with some family issues and haven't been able to get on here for a while. I decided to try flashing CleanRom 2.1 since I was having issue getting back to stock and I am loving it so far. Don't see any need to go back to stock at this point. Thanks for the responses.
