Nandroid restoring

Just registered and i want to say hi to everyone in the forum.
I am not a noob nor an expert but i know a few things here and there.

My first question is can i restore a nandroid backup on another phone?
Say i do a nandroid backup on a nexus one, can i restore the backup on another nexus seeing that i have two of this bad boy and customising each one to my taste can take a long time.
