NAS drive and Android

I have a Neo I-NA316N1-R and for the life of me I cant connect it to any Android device. I can connect it to Windows XP no problem and stream movies from it frequently. But alas I cant find one app that will read this SMB device.
Any app ideas that will read or stream from FTP or SMB because I cant get it to work. File mangers seem to see my Windows Computers no my network but not my NAS drive. Here is a link to the device. ANY ideas would be great.

Try ES File Explorer

You select LAN and then ADD Server and you enter your NAS' IP plus login credentials and you should be able to stream right from the NAS over WiFi.

+1 for Es File Explorer. I use it here to access a Windows XP machine and a FreeNAS machine, and it will stream content from both machines to apps on my Bionic. I also use it to access the FreeNAS machine via SFTP when I'm away from home (but streaming doesn't seem to work as well this way).

Tried ES File Explorer it did not work.
Tried Ghost FTP and it was able to connect but I could not
play any MP4's from my NAS drive. I could play mp3, view jpgs but
could not play MP4's. That was a bit disappointing. I also could not figure out how to copy from my SD card to the NAS. I could copy files to the internal storage but not to the SD card? Go figure.
In short so far no real success.

I think these apps think they are talking to a server
which a NAS is not. (far as I know) ES File Server cant even find the NAS drive
when I do a search but can can find other PC's on my network.
Correcting myself the INEO is a SAMBA server and a FTP Server.

Did you try and add the server to ES File Explorer by its IP address? If it's a samba serve and has shares setup you should be able to access it.

Sure about that you did set up your NAS with SAMBA?
I think the issue is your NAS's settings ;)

I assume your PC can reach the NAS's shares, can't it?

Maybe you might check your network with a tool like NetworkMapper or Fing or something similar.

I just set up a NAS with an old laptop and FreeNAS. It works like charm. I can access it both from LAN and FTP with ES File Explorer. I also set up an account at DynDNS, so I can access it from anywhere. I have activated it as Samba, plus FTP, UPNP and RSYNC (automatic backups/sync of folders). Nice!
