Nasa is getting its money's worth

Opportunity is still alive and exploring on Mars. For something that complicated, it's amazing.

BTW:
Mars rover finds organic compounds | TG Daily

They do all the work in clean rooms to avoid this -

I read the link you posted. The writer said this:

"NASA's confirmed rumors that the Curiosity rover has found organic compounds on Mars - but says they're probably not a sign of life, and likely came from Earth."

And then said this: "But, says SAM Principal Investigator Paul Mahaffy, "We have no definitive detection of Martian organics at this point, but we will keep looking in the diverse environments of Gale Crater."

So which is it? Did they or did they not find Martian organics?

They did find something similar in a Martian meterorite from Antarctica. There is still a big debate about the objects.

NASA does it's damndest to keep cargo clean, but it could have come off the back shell or who knows where.

They are finding signs that Mars did have flowing water.

The Voyagers are giving them their money's worth...they sure don't make it like these anymore!

Imagine if Voyager had some modern tech on board, what kind of data NASA would be gathering. The computer on there is probably about like a calculator.

The info is still valuable.

NASA planning another rover in 2020.
Oh, no doubt it's still valuable. I just meant if they can do that with 35 year old stuff, imagine what they could do with modern tech. Of course, 35 years from now somebody would be sitting around saying the same thing lol.

I always thought the politicians cutting funding from NASA all the time was one of the most short-sighted things imaginable. Their funding is a drop in the bucket in respect to the overall budget, but we have learned so much.
