Native email app not resetting ticker after emails read

Rbrown409

Lurker
Running Android 4.0.4 on Galaxy S3

The number ticker (that pops up on top of the native mail app icon on my home screen when I receive a new email) will not reset after I read emails. For instance, it will show "3" as in I have 3 unread emails. I will go in to the stock email app, read the emails, and return to the home screen where the app icon will still display "3" unread emails. This never resets like it used to. Please help!! I driving me nuts...

You're not the only one; 4.1.1 here and confirmed mine was doing it last night. I deleted the account and set it up again, same thing.

Maybe some people keep so many new/unread emails they haven't noticed yet. I'm going to play with it a bit more this morning and see if I can narrow down more troubleshooting.

now it's happening to my phone app, had a missed call, checked my missed calls, went back to the home screen and the ticker was still next to the phone app!!! Somebody please help

I just returned my phone to Sprint but please let me clarify, it was NOT because of any issues. I'm moving to AT&T so had to do it.

Just wanted to update so you'd know I can't help troubleshooting.

I do want to see if anyone else has this issue though.
