Help Native tether app cutting on but shuts itself off

G.Armour

You know you want to.
I have been having problems out of my tether for the past couple of days, yes I pay for it.. Bit I called VZW, they had no idea of why or how to fix it.. They offered a replacement device, but I'm on the road and won't be back for another couple of weeks.
Anyway, I cut the tethering on, it acts like it's gonna work and then cuts back off again. It won't stay on. I've tried reboot and a factory reset. Running out of ideas, anyone got any advice?

try using widgetsoid's tether toggle. I pay vzw too, but find widgetsoid to be a much more reliable toggle than going through the phones settings menu. It toggles on faster, and it works even with no network (i mean it still toggles on --- so you can connect via samba filesharing --- of course you wouldnt have net access).

sometimes when vzw has network issues, the native tethering wont work. I think because of how it authenticates. But other tether apps will still work, and I'm betting widgetsoid toggle would still work. I'm not sure because I haven't had network troubles recently.

Also --- sometimes my tethering will go on the fritz (rarely as of late), and usually toggling airplane mode for a minute and then reconnecting to the network fixes it. Also a reboot never hurts. Hope that helps!
