Navigation app that considers traffic

Hello
Which is the best navigation app for Android that takes traffic into consideration. I heard a lot about Google navigation doing this but I tried it for a couple of days and it doesn't seem to be working

Google Navigation works very well and (I think) by default picks the fastest (not shortest) route, if you have a data connection and if the road has traffic-speed sensors that Google can access (which is the case in most populated areas). If you want to check alternate routes, then while in navigation mode:
1) Hit the physical menu button.
2) Select "Routes and alternates".
3) Select the pop-up option that looks like 2 arrow paths. Alternate routes will appear with mileage and estimated times.
4) If one of the alternate routes is desirable, click on it.

Bonus tip: You can create desktop shortcuts to important places like your home, office, or hotel by long-pressing on the desktop, selecting "add", "shortcuts", "Directions & Navigations". That makes it easy to get back.

I find that Waze is much better at taking traffic into consideration when picking the fastest route. I use to use Google Maps, but when I started using Waze, I find that Waze generally gives me better routes through traffic. Waze can also change the route while you are on your way to your destination if it finds a better route that then one you are currently on. It also alerts you if it detect that there is a traffic slow down ahead. I highly recommend you give Waze a try.

I'd also recommend Waze. It has saved me from some bad traffic on my way to work (Chicago area) a few times. It's also nice when it tells you things like Police Ahead, or Vehicle on shoulder ahead.. etc. Much more than just traffic. Routing seems as good as Google for the most part.

I use Copilot USA V9 for offline GPS Nav. It comes with traffic at $9 per year. It works really well. It will alert you of upcoming traffic and give you options to re-route while you are driving. I use Google Nav. for city driving to see the traffic ahead, on my route. (CoPilot only shoes traffic when navigating to a destination.)
