Help Navigation in Maps Verbal directions via bluetooth not functioning

My S4 communicates with car radio and Bluetooth headset OK for voice calls.

I am using Google Maps and Navigation to make a journey. The S4 by itself gives out verbal directions OK.

The Navigation app offers Bluetooth for relaying speech directions, but Navigation will not communicate via Bluetooth to either my Bluetooth headset or the car radio despite the option being checked..

Are there some settings that I am missing?

Go to Settings>Connections>Bluetooth, tap the "gear" icon next to the listing for one of your bluetooth devices, and under Profiles select both Call audio and Media audio if available. Then connect that device to the phone, go to Maps and see what happens. Note that some bluetooth devices will only accommodate call audio, and not media audio (by the way, if the device will play music from your phone, it should be capable of doing what you want). BTW I assume you selected "play voice over bluetooth" in the navigation settings under Maps.

Navigation>menu>settings
make sure Play voice over bluetooth is ticked

or when in Maps
Maps>settings>navigation settings>Play voice over bluetooth

No, I cannot play music from my S4 to my WE 570 headset
No, I cannot play music from my S4 to my Galaxy Tab.
No, I cannot play music from my Galaxy Tab to my S4
My car radio can receive calls from my S4.
My WEP 570 headset can receive phone calls from my S4.
My Galaxy Tab can receive and send photos to my S4.
My Core Prime phone can receive and send photos to my S4.
All of the aforementioned would indicate that there is no problem with Bluetooth itself.

Can Bluetooth be selective in respect of the format being passed from one place to another?

The Samsung WEP570 does NOT support the A2DP bluetooth protocol, which is why it will not let you play music from your S4 and why it will not support voice navigation.

Thanks for that, it confirms what I thought that Bluetooth is selective on what it transmits by virtue of the particular product.

Your prompt posting is most appreciated.
