Navigation way points.

Is there a navi app that allows you to set way points? Example is I want to from x to y and the navi app gives me a route. But I want to drive to the same destination using a different route.

If you mean the ability to select alternate routes, then Maps already has that.

If you mean you want to go from A to B but to pass via X and Y, then I read that Google plan to bring waypoint / multiple destination functionality back to Maps but I've no idea when.

The functionality was available in Route66 and TomTom on Symbian several years ago so I'm sure it would be available on their Android offerings.

Yes, some years ago my Garmin would allow me to select way points. Here's my goal, when I set my destination for let's say Phoenix Az from Iowa, it shows only one route through Nebraska, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico but I want to go through Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico. The only way I can see how to do that is to set the destination to Kansas, then when I arrive set the next destination to Texas, etc.

You can make those types of modification on the on-line version of maps. Couldn't you create the route on-line and then use Chrome to Phone to send the route to the phone. Not optimal, I know, but it might work.

Found MapQuest does exactly what I want to do.
