Tired of receiving and seeing useless (for me) messages... What do I actually need to sign/login to just to use the phone to contacts and emergencies?

Go into your phone settings, sounds and notifications, apps, then from the list turn off notifications for each app you no longer want to see notifications for.
You'll no longer be bugged with useless notifications.

But I would just like to hear any sounds, phone ringing, voice mail... over the ear buds and not the units speaker.
