Root need a lil help

I'm going to root and add a custom rom to my friends droid 2. I have already rooted it and install bootstrap recovery. I held down the power button and the x button and got to the screen with the triangle. I hit the hard search button but I dont see were recovery is to get into clockworkmod. I have an Incredible and its rooted, when I go to my boot screen and hit recovery it takes me to clockworkmod. Im afraid that if I install a Rom and it wont go past the m logo or it freeze during boot up how can I get it back to working order? I have installed rom manager and went into bootstrap though the bootstrap app and did a backup.

It works differently on the D2 than on other phones. The best way to get into bootstrap is from the app. If something happens that doesn't let you do that, then you can try this:
Turn the phone on and as soon as it get to the M logo, pull the battery. Then put it back in and turn it on again. It should boot to bootstrap.
