Apps Need Advice and Help on how to learn Android Programming?

Hello, throughout my school years I started to like programming when I had my first programming class in the twelfth school year, it was a basic programming languages like Pascal and Visual Basic, I was a bit disappointed because they did not teach more than that and I would like to learn more, I've thought about going to college but i don't have enough money, so I would like to start learning online, is that possible? If possible how can I do this? What is the easiest method? Did any of you learn this way? How did it Work Out?

Nerd Ranch(book) was a where I started and I highly suggest it. It teaches development in a way that will leave your GUI flexible and your code manageable.
