Need advice for next move...

Hope all is well with your Fascinates out there in droid world. I have an interesting situation. I still can't get the update, if I try clicking on check new in settings it just says please wait then sends me back to the same window. Phone is not rooted and had no problems with the other updates. Got the phone September 11. A friend locally on east coast got update pushed to phone overnight last week. What is my next move? Should I wait and see by reading and understanding the pro and cons of the update and wait for a future update to fix the problems with froyo? Or go to the Verizon store? Thanks in advance for your advice, and really enjoy the site. Props to all of you on here who always take the time to help and who really despite some differing views and arguments, always keep it clean and don't get into the so often read petty juvenile web forum bashing seen too often on the web. If the "check for update" function on your phone does not show any update, you can go to the Verizon Wireless store and ask them to update it for you.

The update is very straight forward. Hope this helps.
