Accessories Need Advice - Skin vs Case

I really like the look of the new carbon fiber skin from Phantom Skinz (see vid below) but I also want the protection of a case (Body Glove or Innocase). Getting a case sort of defeats the purpose of a custom skin as it won't be seen while in the case.

I would like some input from the hive please.

Do you value the camera lens protection? If that thing goes, so goes your camera and camcorder. That is why I went with the Sprint silicone case right away. No thin case for me.
