need advice, switching from Sprint

I currently have an HTC evo 4g with sprint. I was about to pay 300 for a samsung epic touch 4g from craigslist to avoid renewing a 2 yr agreement with sprint. I bought the epic touch in september but I had to return it due to poor signal and slow data speeds. the reason I was considering rebuying it was because the 2.3.6 update apparently fixed the issue I was experiencing. If I'm gonna spend 300 bucks , I might as well get the phone I've been wanting, galaxy nexus. I know it coming to sprint but I'm sure it wont release until July or august. Is the nexus really worth the money or should I just wait until the s3 releases and buy the s2 for now? Need some advice... What would u do?

I personally dislike the Samsung Touchwiz money-wise it makes more sense to buy the Galaxy Nexus now and not wait for the SG3.

Though the decision is totally up to you.

sprint's gonna have some issues with 4G for next couple of years. eventually they're gonna ditch Wimax and change to LTE, and their plan is so messed up already.
wimax uses 2.5ghz frequency, and their new LTE gonna use 1.9ghz 1.6ghz for a while then change to 800mhz (the one nextel is using).
clearwire might change to LTE as well.

Kind of a tough call. I switched from sprint for the VZ GN.
I made the choice to switch because
1. sprint taking away my premiere status (and we all know its because of iphone 4s)
2. Data issues the last couple of weeks in Nov - Dec
3. Tired of all the extra $10 premium data nonsense
4. just a few months after getting my plam pre, sprint stopped doing updates of webos so I had to do the updates myself which I thought was unacceptable service.
5. I really wanted GN

Faster 4g really didn't factor in but now that I have it (even at limited capacity) I love it.

However, with whatever issues there are with VZ or the GN, I actually have worst data coverage now with VZ & GN than when I was on sprint. Phone calls that never ring and end up directly in voice mail. That kind of stuff is turning me off. Overall, VZ is more expensive. And VZ as a company feels like a bigger ass than sprint. Kind of get the feeling vz thinks they are all that.

Bottom line, I am still happy with the switch but not by much. If I didn't need to switch phones I probably would have hang on to sprint for a bit longer.

Well, I just got back from the Verizon. I use approx 6G per month of data and i asked for the 4G promotion for $30. I figured i could limit my data by using wifi while at home. They gave me great news by telling me the promo ended yesterday! My timing is impeccable. Its already bad enough that i have to limit my minutes and now i have to limit my data and pay more? I was looking at a $150 phone bill per month on a single account. Looks like im going to wait a little longer... Thanks to all for the replies.

IMO wait for the Sprint G-Nex. i think it's coming sooner than you think. maybe even March. Sprint provides the best value bar none. Sprint and Verizon share CDMA towers so don't believe the myths. crunch the numbers and do the math. and bank and invest the savings every month rather than send it to Verizon every month. that's how the rich get richer.

good luck!
