Help Need app search on note 10.1

Hi
I have a Note 2 and one of the handy features is search on the home menu. I use it because I can't remember where all my different apps are located and I don't notice the icon.

But on my note 10.1 2014 there is no search that way. Can I get an app search on the home menu?

Won't Google Now search device for apps?
If not, a handy little app I use to quickly find contacts (but can also be set to search apps) is Gesture Search by Google
