Need app to replace BB Messenger internationally

Here's the deal...

I travel internationally quite a bit for work. We use blackberry's because I have the international data plan and I can message back and forth with the wife and it costs pennies.

I'd love to give my wife the ability to switch to an andriod phone, but I'd need a texting app that would allow me to chat with her from my work blackberry to her android that is billed as data usage and not a text. If I need to use the same app on the blackberry, that's fine.

Any ideas?

Ironass, right on! I think Whatsapp should do the trick. It was the only one I could find as well that uses data and has a BB app.

Until that BBM app for Android sees the light of day...
