Lurker
I have 2 Nook/Galaxy/Android tablets - one is SMT560NU with version 5.1.1 and the other is SM-T230NU. I botched an upgrade of Win 10 on my desktop and need to do a clean install. While investigating the new Office Apps, I found a note saying that I could install the new Office apps on Android tablets, but they need to be at least KitKat 4.4. I'm losing what's left of my mind trying to see if I can do this. I have used the Check for Software Updates and nothing comes up. Microsoft told me that one tablet is a Lollipop and didn't know about the other. KitKats...Lollipops...what the heck do I have, and what can I get? I only use the tablet for reading books and playing games, but spouse needs Word, Excel, etc., and I'd love to have the same versions on the tablets as I'll have on our desktop.

The SMT560NU is 5.1.1(lollipop) and the SM-T230NU is 4.4(kitkat), I belive. You can check the Android version for the tables under settings>about>software information.

To update the apps to the latest versions you go to the play store and press the three lines on the the top left, and go on my apps and games to check if any updates are available for your apps.
