Root Need clarity on system memory usage

OK I've been all over these boards and findings about how this KK 4.4.2 system works is confusing and very misleading. I;ve currently got these settings and results:

system ROM 1.59 GB (366 MB free)
Internal + Media 1.58 GB (898 MB free)
Ext. Sd Card 29.8 GB (16.8 GB free)

Now to me it seems that I should have plenty of room on my system ROM storage partition to do any backups and or load more apps and back them up with no problems provided I remain within approx. 200 MB free space. But this is not the case, I cannot do even one simple back up of any app or process I need to do.

Yet whenever I try to do a b/u of a single app I get the error message that there is not enough storage space available. I've deleted or frozen a plethora of system apps that are marked as safe to remove or disable and yet I continue to get these failure messages due to shortage of room on this main sytem Rom. Can anyone clarify what is going on here?

I've used the set up suggested by Andy Opie 150. I don't have a bunch of non essential or apps that use great quantities of storage, the only games I have downloaded I'm not even using currently, they are all either frozen or deleted but still available for reloading from Titanium B/U.

I'm trying to visualize just how these storage systems files and apps are arranged and being utilized by the LG operating system. Right now things just aren't making any sense according to the input from others on these forums.

Is there anywhere that I can find a definitive mapping of how things are loaded ,stored, accessed and utilized by this device. I'm sure that one of the resident geniuses (and I don't mean that in any derogatory sense of the word) could do a tree graphic or some form of graphic to explain and show for us dummies just how best to make this system work to our advantage.

I know this is a huge request but I think that it clarifies so many of the questions and problems that we general users need to be understandable and therefore make it possible for us to achieve such (supposedly) simple instructions as backing up an app or file that needs to either backed up or have its back up updated. Thats another problem, I can no longer do any new or refresh backups of existing ones. I hope that I can get some solid feed back on this problem unless I'm just so stupid that I'm completely missing some very basic operations that would make all these problems non relevant.

Very simply, userdata is not the same as system data. They are two different partitions. Best thing you can do is partition your SD. And use link2sd to move everything.
There are tutorials around on how to do it.
Works for me just remember NOT to move any important apps because your extsd could crash.

I've partitioned my sd card and done all the directions from Andy Opie150. I've got Links2sd plus installed and using that to link my apps that can be linked to teh sd card. I'm using ext4 and still I'm getting these problems with a shortage of room for making back ups and downloading new apps.

I've also done the directions with Apps2SD just as he said to do them. Like I said my system is showing over 300MB free space on the internal ROM partition and over 900MB free space on the internal storage plus over 14GB free space on my external 32GB sd card.
