Need Email App To Support POP

I am having some problems connecting my school email with my default android email app. It is saying that authentication failed but the credentials are correct, the only thing that is not is the email protocol which our server uses POP. However the app only lets me choose between IMAP and POP3.

Does anyone know of a email client app that will support POP for the server protocol?

pop is pop3 - '3' being the latest revision of 'pop' .... it's just 'shorthand'. Anyhow, I can't think of any email app for Android that does not support pop. Which phone have you got? I have an HTC and just use the stock email app with my pop account and it works fine.

Can you not check with your school IT people?

Well that would be the case if our email server supported POP 3. Unfortunately it doesn't; very old email server that is located off-site in another state. But i do know that the OEM Mail App that comes with the HTC Evo 4g does support POP as one of the protocol options, but my Samsung Stratosphere doesn't.

The POP3 spec is from 1988, which predates the Internet. I doubt that your mail server is older than that. Are you sure you are configuring the proper port (most likely 110 or 25)?
