Root need help back to stock

ive just unrooted my phone (due to having to return due to touch screen fault) and put the stock rom back on, which works but when i try to update it, it restarts it in the ra-desire or unrevocted recovery mode? also theres still the super user tab on my apps, is there any way to totally wipe the phone back to stock? without any of the rooting stuff on it?
thanks

Yes, you need to run an RUU - either one for your network (or unbranded if that's what you started with) or, for most people, the official gingerbread. This will wipe the phone completely and unroot.

If you are S-Off you must flash the alpharev downgraded hboot first.

Read the rooting faq, since this is in there. How did you try to unroot before?
