NEED HELP! Confusion

Ok hey! I need some help.
So I recently upgraded my phone to an android phone, with data plan that is NOT unlimited. The old plan had no data plan and no smartphone. Ok so I need to know somethings. I installed this GOSMSPRO texting app on my phone and I wanted to know if it would be counted as data usage or text since its a texting app and it uses my number? Also im in the red for pay per use usage but I havent used the data plan that much. Prob like for a couple of seconds. Do I have to do anything to confirm the data plan?

So in all:
1. Does GOSMSPRO count toward my data plan?
2. Why am I in the red

Texting apps like Go SMS counts towards your sms credits not data plan. It uses your provider to text not internet.

Yu may in fact be using more data than you think. Any app or widget that sync's will consume some data. Usually it's minimal, but if you have it set to sync frequently you can go through your quota fairly quickly. If you want to see exactly where your data allotment is being spent, you can monitor this with Network TrafficStats Lite - Android app on AppBrain.
